Caught the Weddoes last night as part of their UK “Hit Parade” tour which sees the band play their 1992 monthly assault of the charts.
Mr Smith keeps us waiting – after far too many drinks and a good while after support band The Fall appear at 22:30 hours! They seem to rush through the set but it’s a corker Touch Sensitive, White Lightning, Boxotocis, (some new stuff that sounds very cool). Friend of ours jumps on stage and next thing we know he’s arms around Mark E Smith and singing away. 23:40 and it’s all over. Up there with one of my best Fall gigs.
Cowtown and Bis for around 10 quid a ticket. Bargain! 2 great performances and a good vibe in the crowd with about 50% of the crowd dancing along.
